new and improved: latest obsession

i know that i'm constantly talking about how i have a latest obsession. and really all my "obsession:" is is a few days harping on how good something is that i had never heard of/seen/experienced before...before kicking it to the curb for my newest obsession. but i think i might have found one that just might stick....enter...

HOUSE MD. yeah, it's on fox. and currently the only other thing i watch on fox is Prison Break. But this weekend, while comatose on my couch in pain - i watched all of season 1. Then, just when i thought i couldn't take any more medical jive, i rented season two. and watched it. all of it. and it's good. although, watching 48 hours of medical drama in a row might not be the best way to watch House. because they are always looking for the same diseases and always coming up with the same tests. if i had to hear dr cameron suggest Lupus one more time....

but the show is great. hugh laurie is amazing. he's actually kind of hot. in a weird, "i don't want to give a reason as to why" kinda way. and anything with robert sean leonard...i'm sold. so...now i have a new tuesday night show. just in case i have to break up with gilmore girls because it might suck. who am i kidding? gilmore girls isn't going to suck. but it also isn't on for another month....the only downside to watching that much TV on DVD was that i missed The Soup, and also failed to check on the news or other pop culture relevant programs. so i feel totally out of the loop. but i can always get back into the swing of things tomorrow, i guess.

run. get season 1 and 2 now. you won't regret it.

things to consider when looking for a job

i'm not really "down" with all the cool tips about interviewing for a job and stuff. mostly because i have an awesome job that i like and lets me play most of the day with cool people. it doesn't get much better than that. i would like it if my commute were shorter or easier or whatever...

anyway, i'm off topic. because the number one thing you should consider while looking for a job is...."can i take a 20 minute nap undetected at my workspace?"

as i found out today, the answer for me is a resounding "yes." although i do have to admit i wasn't at MY workspace. i was in the conference room. the glass walled conference room that faces the communal kitchen. the communal kitchen that during the 20 minutes or so i had my head down, at least 8 people walked in and out of.

8 people. and no one said anything to me. that's the kind of environment everyone should work in. the kind where if you feel like putting your head down on your desk...or on the conference table...for a few minutes, no one would think you're being "lazy" or a "dumbass." you're just doing what you can do to get through the day, and hopefully make that day more productive.

thanks, employers. you made my day.

welcome to the suck

yeah, i had my wisom teeth out. i'm officially stupid. ok, half as stupid. because i only had the bottom two out. it...SUCKS. the pain on the first day was indescribable and at this point, i don't know how i'm going to get the top two out...ever. because DAMN. the painkillers are good, ice packs are even better. i even stayed home from work yesterday (monday) because i was still way too groggy to do anything. in all honesty, i should have stayed home today as well. because all i can think about is sleeping, even though i cut all my remaining pain meds in half (literally) in an attempt to be less drowsy. all that really did was make me more drowsy with a little less pain. it basically hurts all around.

things i learned about myself this weekend:

1. it is entirely possible to cry, bleed and drool all at once
2. i hate pudding (this may change)
3. oatmeal gives me hearburn (i may have already known this, but disregarded due to the yumminess of raisins and spice oatmeal)
4. i will always want my mommy when i'm hurting
5. it is entirely possible to watch two seasons of a television show in a three day period
6. vitamin water is good. vicodin is great. my bed is better.
7. i want a new tv. a bigger, flatter, better sounding tv. to watch HOUSE on.
8. i'm glad we got the new couch and the chenille throw. because it's very comfy.
