Flashback!

i'm aware that i havent posted in a mighty long time, but honestly i just wasn't up to it. i had a stressful week last week full of doctor visits and tests and general worrying...all for nothing. so here for you today...a flashback.

FLASHBACK! SOPHOMORE YEAR OF COLLEGE, 2001-2002.

the setting: Martyrs Hall, Room J-111

think of it...time for school again, and this year all my favorite friends are in the closest proximity possible. we are literally living on top of each other in martyrs hall at fordham. but it's ok, because we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Martyrs is where a big chunk of my college relationships became whole, solidified. it's where carrie and i learned to live practically within arms reach the entire year. where dozens of jokes were born (re: launch it) and where i fell in love with a senior from afar, and then spent the entire year trying to get close to him, culminating with one conversation (ok, it wasn't really so much a conversation as it was me in his presence, adoring him and bringing him his favorite candy) around 3am, ram van office, st patrick's day.

so it's fitting that when i received an itunes gift certificate, courtesy of the LOVELY Lisa (to help keep my mind off things...ain't she thoughtful??) that i would immediately take a trip down memory lane to five years ago. the song on my mind lately? Gigi D'Agostino's "I'll Fly With You."

it's one of those techno things. stuff i don't generally like. but for some reason it penetrated my mind. oh wait, that's because the girl living in the single next door to us PLAYED THIS SONG NON STOP. it was cool the first couple of times, realizing our walls were paper thin and that we would benefit from her eclectic music tastes. but then it got old. like, "3am i have a 20 page paper due in five hours and only 3 pages done and why won't she stop smoking and drinking and hanging out with her gay boyfriend and listening to this stupid techno dance crap" old.

but i bought it. beacuse it makes me think of carrie. and she's so far away. below, you'll find a weird youtube.com video with the song as the soundtrack. note: i'm not really into anime. like, at all. but this was the only video that had the version of the song i bought. the others were so ungodly techno...with extra minutes of repetitive beats no doubt...that i decided anime was the way to go. ENJOY.
