Geek to Chic
i had a pretty nice weekend, which included fun things like going to see Pirates 2 again, having dinner with tania and lisa, having dinner with kathleen-becca and maria, and going out to Saloon. i also saw The Devil Wears Prada on saturday with my mumsy. I read the book so long ago that i couldn't tell the major differences, or what they left out or anything, which i think made it more enjoyable. what i did notice was how much i love anne hathaway and adrian grenier. and it made me think of the first time i noticed either of them, and how they went from geek to chic. except, neither of them were really geeky EVER. except for anne hathaway, who had to don geek wear for the princess diaries.
see below:
geek....
never mind the fact that meg cabot (my number one favorite young adult novel writer) wrote the series that this movie is based on...and the movie (kinda). but it's disney, which almost always means guaranteed hit. or at least, guaranteed sugary sweet happy ending. but poor poor anne hathaway, with her unruly hair and unfortunate fake eyebrows. my friend becca (long time curly haired fabulous woman) has a problem with this movie makeover though, because in order to make her character "pretty" they straighten her hair. being someone who has pin straight hair and gets uuber jealous whenever i see some beautifully coiffed tendrils, i happen to agree with becca here. couldn't they have just gotten a bottle of Frizz-ease and tamed the mane, instead of flat-ironing it?
to chic...
anne hathaway is seriously hot in the devil wears prada. enough said.
*part dos*
geek...
ok, really i'm only saying "geek" here because he's pictured with melissa joan hart. because lets be serious, adrian grenier is hot. smolderingly so. and this movie is so awful it takes abc family, a rainy saturday and nothing else on (or at least nothing else on until while you were out, what not to wear, house hunters, design to sell or anything on the food network starts) to fully appreciate it. i must say though, adrian is hot as the lovelorn youth. and in case you were wondering, stephen collins (aka reverend camden) is marvelous as clarissa/sabrina's deadbeat dad. all those lifetime movies finally paying off i guess...
chic...
"LOL" moment of the day...is adrian grenier wearing the same shirt (or at least the same god awful olive green) in these two pictures, taken YEARS apart? probably. kudos to me for picking random shots off of google images and coming up with him wearing practically the same thing. i should have grabbed something from entourage. anyway..note...curly locks, pursed lips, olive skin, five o'clock shadow...all around yumminess. keep it coming, adrian.
