the perfect commute

my commute as of late has been hell. ever since labor day the train from Farmingdale at 8:23 has been packed - some days i have to actually (eek) sit next to someone with no extra seat buffer! and then when i get to penn station to take the C/E, the platform is packed full of people who don't know how to

1. walk
2. get on the train
3. move to the middle of the train to continue letting people ON the train

but today the stars aligned. the universe knows it is my birthday (whopping 24). maybe the universe was giving me a gift. showing me that commuting isn't so horrible. that sometimes, when the timing is right, it can be totally and completely stress free.

it would have been really bad too, because i baked cupcakes for my office and was carrying around that package.

but i got a seat at farmingdale, was able to sleep the entire way and then once we got to penn station the platform for the C/E was so empty that i actually thought to myself, "did something happen that i'm not aware of? where the hell is everyone??"

and my office was filled with well wishers and hungry cupcake eaters.

tonight i celebrate with my bestests. and i'm really looking forward to it, that's for sure.

here's a picture i found of the Babylon LIRR station. I miss it sometimes. And this picture is fantastic (taken by Jack Kratoville)!
