i was just reading entertainment weekly's 50 greatest sidekick list and saw this picture, and had to post. ahh, Duckie. How could Andie have chosen BLAINE over you? "Blaine, his name is Blaine? Blaine isn't a name, it's an appliance." anyway, i had to put the picture here, because it's my absolute favorite scene in Pretty in Pink - where Duckie bursts into the record store(Traxxx), and sings along to Otis Redding's, "Try a Little Tenderness." many a weekend has been spent replicating those moves - usually at chrissy's house, where there are two stairs into the den, which are crucial if you know the scene. so enjoy. it's jon cryer at his best, and most adorable.
