dc wrap up and more

i officially hate blogger. and here's why: the picture upload, for the last two days, has not worked for me. i don't get it. how am i supposed to share with you the fun i had this weekend (not to mention the promised new glasses pictures) if the pictures won't upload?! how?! HOW?!

so our trip was a success. we had minimal (re: no) traffic on the way down, leaving at 930 and arriving shortly after 3pm friday. coming home was another story. we had no traffic. NONE. until staten island. the dreaded borough of nyc. and when you've been in the car for multiple hours and can see the island on which you live, while NOT MOVING...that's frustration. also, allie and i opted not to stop and use the bathroom in jersey thinking we'd be home shortly. boy were we wrong.

but we did get to do everything we wanted: visit dc and monuments, hang out with my cousin and her kids, get in some good relaxation time, watch the abc family movie "celeste in the city" (that was actually something we didn't even know we wanted to do, until we found it at 12am saturday night), eat copious amounts of crap, visit with my aunt linda, go on a boat ride, spend madelyn's 2nd birthday with her and generally have a good time.

as an added bonus, when i got home there was a pile of CLEAN laundry waiting for me that my mom had done. she really is the greatest, don't ya think?
