myspace, among other things
so, i've finally linked this thing into my AIM profile, and hopefully i will be famous and land myself on gawker. if you don't know, gawker is the greatest and most addicting blog about ny media/life/socialization and i can't help reading it. i read it almost as much as i read e!online. no, that last sentence was not a joke. however, i'm not nearly as scandalous or funny as the stuff they write about, so i'll just pin my hopes to the idea that maybe they'll be "googling" themselves and find me pathetic enough to say so on the site.
expanding on my pathetic nature, is my need to check two websites almost obsessively during the day. i'm talking like 10 times each. and because i check these two sites at work, i have to log in to them everytime. which means that i'm endlessly typing my username and password. i'm talking about myspace and yahoo mail, of course.
the email i understand. since i don't get any "real" mail (aka snail mail), i check my email to see if anyone loves me. generally the only people who love me are the administrators of the various newsletters i'm signed up for, but i always hold out hope that im going to find a personalized email in there among the bunch. it happens.
but myspace...myspace is a whole other beast. i log on to see if i have new friends (145 and counting) or to see if anyone has left me comments. this, i conclude, is pathetic. it's really sad. but i know i'm not alone in this. there should be a support group.
